It’s been a number of years since I started delving into our family background, trying to answer a few unanswered questions and shaking a few skeletons in the closet along the way. Nearly all those questions start with Why? Why did  I have blonde hair and blue eyes and my brother have black hair and dark olive skin? Why didn’t my father ever talk about his mother? Why was my mother so vague about her family? Why did both families emigrate to Australia? It has been a labour of love that is still ongoing and after unearthing so much material and recording it with the help of “Ancestry.com” I took a long hard look at what I had and realised that the facts alone didn’t tell the whole story so I started to write …….
